I was so looking forward to Ben and Sophie’s big day. It was my second time shooting at St Andrew’s Church and The Springhead Pub and both are such lovely locations for a wedding. A traditional church followed by village pub complete with huge weeping willows, rolling hills and duck pond. It is as pretty as it sounds and wish it were my local!
I know Sophie from when we worked a Saturday job together at a local hotel when we were in our teens, back in the day when a job was a 3 hour shift followed by the beach for the rest of the day! They were some good Summers! It was so lovely to catch up with Sophie and Ben at their engagement shoot at Durdle Door earlier this year and I finally got to see how beautifully their plans came together for their wedding a few weeks ago. And did they ever come together!
The little touches Sophie brought to the styling of her day were simply gorgeous; the named hangers for her bridesmaids and flower girls, the dried petal confetti, watering can bouquets for the flower girls, hay bails for outdoor seating, a well wishes jar and sunflower seed wedding favours (to name but a few) all brought together in the most beautiful of colour themes.
Sophie wore a beautiful fishtail dress with sweetheart neckline and embellished shoulder from the Morilee collection by Madeline Gardner, accessorised perfectly with vintage inspired peep toe heels by Rachel Simpson.
I must give a shout out to make up artist Shanie, www.shaniewrightmakeup.com who did an absolutely flawless job of the girls make up and florist www.angelasfloraldesign.co.uk , whose bouquets I thought were original and so striking. The sunflowers were perfectly complimented by the coral roses, eucalyptus leaves, yellow freesias and red calla lilies which were also chosen for the groomsmen’s button holes.
Happiness radiated from Ben and Sophie all day, that kind of endless love written all over their faces and do they ever make each other smile. It is undeniable in the photographs! Thank you both for choosing me to capture your day, it was such a pleasure and the biggest congratulations on becoming Mr and Mrs!
